Wayne Paul Werner
December 18, 1943 - September 13, 2024
Wayne P Werner (80) of Portland, Oregon passed away peacefully during the early hours of September 13th in the comfort of his own bed.
He was born on December 18th, 1943 to Marian E Werner (Wylie) & Andrew B Werner in Yakima, Washington. Wayne grew up in Portland as the second eldest of seven children. He graduated from St Steven’s Catholic Elementary School (Class of ‘57), Central Catholic High School (Class of ‘61) and attended St Martin’s University (Lacey, Washington).
As a salesman and ‘Jack of all trades,’ Wayne spent most of his adult life in Portland, Eugene and Palm Springs. When not making deals, he was an avid golfer often winning local tournaments at his favorite courses. Wayne was a member of the Eugene Country club, taking the honors of Club Champion in 1985 and Senior Club Champion in 2007. He was also a finalist in the Oregon Amateur Golf Tournament.
After a day on the links, Wayne liked to relax with a good old gin and tonic before heading out to the local dance hall. He enjoyed music and LOVED to dance!
Wayne will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and quick wit. He would light up a room with his kind demeanor and infectious personality.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, Ted Werner and his former wife and mother of four daughters, Nancy McCulloch (Donelson). He is survived by his siblings; Blaine Werner (Jennifer), Mary Stempel (Jim), Anna Kane (Greg), Julie Werner and Andrea Olson, his daughters and their families; Michele Nilson (Kevin), Wendy Koch (Chris), Jamie Enders (Jerry) and Stacy Rombach (Tom).
Wayne was the proud uncle to 20 nieces and nephews, grandfather to 8 grandchildren and a great grandpa to 2 beautiful grand babies (with another on the way). Wayne is also survived by his previous wife, Jodi Werner, and close friend of 50 years, Raj Sarda.
