Rommel Orga Dizon

January 19, 1972 — October 13, 2025

Rommel Dizon, 53, passed away in a car accident on October 13, 2025.

Born in Quezon City, Philippines, in 1972, Rommel was the first child, grandchild, and nephew on both sides of his family. From an early age, he was known for his kindness, intelligence, and quiet strength — qualities that would define his life and touch everyone who knew him. At the age of 13, he moved to Oregon with his family in 1985.

Rommel is survived by his two children Natalie Dizon and Brady Dizon with wife Cindy Dizon. He is also survived by his sister Marissa Dizon, Marjorie Dizon, and Geoffrey Dizon. Rommel is preceded in death by his parents Godofredo Dizon and Marita Dizon.

Rommel was a devoted husband to Cindy for 19 years and a wonderful father to Natalie and Brady. Rommel and Cindy were set up on a date by friends who thought they’d be perfect for each other. He taught his children to love God, work hard, and live with integrity. Whether going on family trips, playing games, sharing advice, or cracking his famously bad dad jokes, Rommel made every moment with his family count.

Rommel graduated with honors from Oregon State University and later earned his Master’s Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering in 1996. A proud Beaver, he wore his school colors often and spoke fondly of his time there. His career included serving as a Component Design Engineer at Intel, running his own computer supply business, and most recently, providing tech support for the Hillsboro School District. Rommel was the go to for his family and friends when it came to anything tech related.

A lifelong chess enthusiast, Rommel co-published a chess book in 1997 and was admired for his sharp, analytical mind. Unapologetically nerdy, he enjoyed time with friends from LAN parties to Dungeons and Dragons. He had spreadsheets for everything he did. He loved history, especially World War 2, video games, rooting for his favorite sports teams, karaoke, and sci-fi movies like Lord of the Rings.

His legacy lives on through his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. He will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. A Celebration of Life Service held in his honor will be held on Nov. 22, 2025 at Living Hope Fellowship in Beaverton, Oregon.
