Pamela (Pam) Joan Cowan Hill passed away on October 23, 2023 at the age of 79 in Beaverton, Oregon, surrounded by her family.

Pam was born September 14,1944 in Santa Maria, California to Richard and Joan Cowan. Pam was an only child and her father Richard Cowan was an Air Force Officer which afforded her the opportunity to live in California, Oregon, Ohio, Florida, New York, Hawaii and Germany while growing up. 

Pam graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School, in Germany, and went on to the University of Maryland, in Munich, Germany before returning to the States with her parents. Upon returning to the states Pam finished her Bachelor’s degree in Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she met her husband, Daniel Hill. Pam later attended California State University, Sacramento where she went on to earn her Master’s Degree in School Administration.  

Pam is preceded in death by her parents. Pam was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Nana. She is survived by her husband of fifty seven years, Daniel Hill, her two children and their spouses: Peter and Kathryn Hill, and Kelly (Hill) and Trent Hansen, along with her four beloved grandchildren: Peyton, Gavin, Blake and Lelia. She also leaves behind her favorite furry grand-dog Louie who was her faithful companion. 

Pam devoted her life and her passion to children and education. She was an educator for over forty years and retired from being a Principal of Flory Academy of Science and Technology in Moorpark, CA. In addition to being an educator, she was an active member of the Moorpark Rotary, even serving as the President for a term. During her career life she received several honors and awards such as the prestigious Moorpark Woman of the Year and the Region XIII Elementary Principal of the Year.

Pamela Joan Cowan Hill’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her smile, her kindness, her love, and her unending devotion to her family, friends, education, and things she loved will forever inspire us. While her presence may be missed, her spirit will remain a guiding light in our lives. Clink!

Family and friends are invited to attend Pamela’s Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 13715 SW Walker Rd, Beaverton, OR 97005 on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Her Life at the Murrayhill Recreation Association/Murrayhill Hometown Center at 11010 SW Teal Blvd. Beaverton, OR 97007
