Kathleen “Kathy” Alma Quesnel
Also lovingly known as “Gram Cracker”
Kathleen “Kathy” Alma Quesnel, a devout Catholic and a proud Canadian of Beaverton, Oregon, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on May 4th, 2025, at the age of 93.
Kathy was born on November 7th, 1931, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to parents John and Mary Chisholm. She grew up as the second to the youngest of eight children.
In her twenties, Kathy, moved to Portland, Oregon, with her brother Len and her sister Anna. There, she met and married Leon George Quesnel (12/31/1937-5/2/2000) on September 7th, 1957. Together they raised three children.
Kathy proudly became an Untied States citizen in 1995, with the loving help of her grandchildren who quizzed her on the test. Still, she always believed Canadians were the BEST!
She dedicated 34 years of her career to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon before retiring in 1992. Retirement didn’t slow her down—Kathy continued to volunteer for over a decade at hospitals including Good Samaritan and St Vincent.
A longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Kathy was an active and faithful Catholic, generously giving her time and support to every parish she belonged to.
Kathy had a deep love for sunshine and the beach in her younger years. In later life, she cherished afternoon tea and card games with dear friends, especially enjoying the game Sequence.
She preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Chisholm and her seven siblings.
Kathy is survived by her children: Gordon Leon Quesnel, Mary Eloise Moore, and Stephen Bernard Quesnel (Camille Quesnel); her grandchildren; Heather June Moore, John James Moore (Ashley Moore), Lindsay Marie Quesnel, and Stephanie Camille Quesnel; and great grandchildren; Gage Jameson Moore, Harrison James Moore, and Hendricks West Moore.
Kathy was a beautiful soul—kind, passionate, and devoted. She deeply loved her family and faith, and her warmth touched many lives. She will be forever missed as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother! Until we meet again Gram Cracker—we love you!
In accordance with her wishes, Kathy will be cremated and laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum. A private memorial service for immediate family will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Beaverton, Oregon on Friday, May 16th, 2025.
