Kathleen Joan Hetherington

Kathy was born July 29, 1935 in Spokane, WA, to parents Benjamin and Mary Kuttner. She was the oldest of four children.
She attended St Francis of Assisi (K-8) and Holy Names High School before enrolling at Marylhurst College where she graduated in 1957 with a degree in Education. While in college she worked a summertime job at Carnation Dairy in Spokane which led to meeting the love of her life and future husband, Gary.
Upon settling in Portland she became a full time homemaker and mother; two jobs that she excelled at. Among her many interests were tennis, walking, bridge, sewing, gardening, volunteering, the Catholic Church, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Jerry) Woody, Mark (Julie) Hetherington, and Patrick Hetherington; grandchildren Brent Hetherington, Alex Hetherington, and Olivia Woody; sister Molly (Bill) Goldstein; and best friend Joyce Trull.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gary; son Michael; parents Benjamin and Mary; and brothers David and Daniel.
