Katherine “Kat” Chyrl Lager, age 35, of Gladstone, Oregon, passed away on June 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with depression.
Born on June 4, 1990, Kat lived a life as rare and treasured as the four-leaf clovers she loved to collect. She found joy in nature, creativity in art, and meaning in the smallest of things — which she often turned into beautiful handmade books and jewelry. Those who knew Kat will remember her for her gentleness, authenticity, and the quiet strength she carried through life.
Kat was mother to her two daughters, Kaylee Ireland Lager (17) and Malin Rose Baarstad (12). Her love for them was unconditional and ever-present — the truest reflection of her heart and soul.
She is survived by her mother, Nancy Hoodman; her sisters, Jackee Ragan and Christina Parker; her nieces and nephews, Oliver, Michael, and Isabella; and her grandparents, Kathy Kosmas, Richard and Ellen Lager, and Obie and Jean Hoodman. Kat will also be lovingly remembered by Erik Baarstad and Heath Enderle, the loves of her life..
Kat was preceded in death by her father, Jason Roy Lager, and her grandfather, Mike Kosmas.
Though her time on Earth was far too short, Kat’s kindness, strength, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her legacy lives on in her daughters, in the lives she touched, and in the natural beauty she so dearly loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that live plants be sent to: 915 E Arlington, Gladstone, OR 97027 or that donations be made in Kat’s honor to Higher Ground Counseling — in support of mental health awareness and those still fighting.
