John Paul Wolf

Paul John Wolf was born in April 1931 in Hillsview, South Dakota, to Martin and Audelight Wolf. He was raised on their farm with his ten siblings. In 1933, the family moved to Mt. Angel, Oregon, where Paul attended Mt. Angel Preparatory.

From 1950 to1954, Paul served as an airplane mechanic in the Navy Air Corps during the Korean conflict. After his discharge, he attended Seattle University, where he earned a degree in business administration.

In 1953, a friend introduced Paul to his future wife, Elizabeth Narey, and they were married in September 1954. Elizabeth proceeded Paul in death in April 2024. Together, they had six children: Teri (Dennis), Brian (Barbara), Paula (Bernie), Deborah, Tracy, and Michelle (Patrick); eight grandchildren; Devyn, Madelyn, Brianne, Kai, Amika, Anna, Spencer, Collin and one great-grandson, Parker.

In 1959, Paul and Elizabeth moved to Portland, where Paul founded Airport Drayage Co., an air-freight trucking company. He retired in 1994, and the business continues to operate today under the leadership of three of his granddaughters.

Paul was a longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, where he served on the parish finance committee for 25 years. After moving to Vancouver, Paul and Elizabeth became members of Holy Redeemer Parish. Paul was a founding member of KBVM Catholic Radio and served on its board of directors for 12 years. He also served as president of the Holy Name Society and volunteered with the Confraternity of the Rosary.

For more than 50 years, Paul was a daily Mass attendee, a testament to the central role his Catholic faith played throughout his life.
