James Quinn Dolan

James (Jim) Quinn Dolan, age 87, of Portland, Oregon, was born in Providence, Rhode Island to James Q. and Margaret (Coughlin) Dolan, and died on November 1, 2026. He attended Providence Country Day School and Worcester Academy, and graduated from Nichols College and the University of Rhode Island Graduate School. Jim joined the US Coast Guard and was a member of the Coastal Force. He loved sports, excelling in wrestling and football. Working in New York City, he was a Brand Manager for Nabisco. Coming back to RI, Jim remained in the advertising business, eventually becoming Senior VP at Provandie & Chirurg advertising agency. As a result of a chance meeting on an airplane, Jim transitioned to the health care industry as a Corporate Director of Marketing for the Greenery, and then moved to Hillhaven Nursing Homes. To return to direct contact with residents and families, he became Marketing and Sales Director first at Longwood Place in Reading, MA and then Senior Living Residences throughout Massachusetts. A widower, Jim was blessed to find love again, married in 2005, and moved to Portland, Oregon for his post-retirement adventure.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-one years, Anne (MacMillan, Korpi) Dolan of Portland, Oregon; his son James L Dolan of Massachusetts; step children Sharon Korpi (Denis Ruttenberg) of California and Stephen Korpi (Heather Law) of Portland OR; and grandchildren Sam, Sofia, and Thomas. Predeceased by his parents, first wife Mary Ann, and sister Ellen Donnelly.

Mass of Christian Burial at the Madeleine Church, 3123 NE 24th Ave, Portland, OR on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Internment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the charity of your choice.
