Helen Margaret Feltz

Helen passed away May 3rd at Mt. Hood View Senior Care where she had very loving care from a long battle with Parkinson's.

She was born to Frank and Sadie Hanauska in Portland on May 14th, 1931. She graduated from Sacred Heart grade school, St. Mary's High School in Portland, and one year at Marylhurst College where she had a four year scholarship in music. She played violin in the Willamette Falls Symphony, East County Community Orchestra, and Christ the King Catholic Church folk group mass. She married the love of her life, Paul Feltz, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on May 30th, 1953. For 52 years she was very active at Christ the King Catholic Parish where she made banners, helped decorate the church, helped on funeral receptions, and she helped her husband deliver food for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She and Paul took communion to Kaiser hospital for 15 years. She and her neighbor Helen Watkins started the hot food program for Christ the King grade school. Helen loved to visit Hawaii and Palm Springs with family where she liked to play golf. She was a member of Pleasant Valley golf club where she had a hole in one.

Preceding in death was her parents (Frank and Sadie) and brother, Jerry Hanauska. She is survived by her husband(Paul), sons Jim (Carol), Don (Jeannie), Gary (Jeanie), and daughter Judy (Jeff) Whitson, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and one on the way as well as her sisters Ruth Bingold(Milwaukie, OR) and Carol Fieger(Denver, CO).
