November 25, 1987 - April 28, 2023

Hared Passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital due to medical complications in Portland, OR.

Hared spent some years of his childhood in Mexico; Hawthorne, CA; and Missoula, MT; where he graduated from Sentinel High School in 2005 and attended the Big Sky Culinary Institute at the Missoula College.

Hared had a passion for food from a young age and loved spending time in the kitchen and watching cooking shows with his mom. His love language was cooking for others and always wanted everyone to have a full and happy belly!

Hared also loved children and enjoyed watching his niece for almost a year before moving to Austin, TX in 2014 with his best friend Nico Atienza.

During this period, Hared met another person who became his Masonic Brother Bennie Hudson.  Bennie was not just a friend, also a Masonic and Eastern Star mentor and later his employer for a period.  Hared spent many hours traveling on trips with Bennie both learning Masonry and participating in BBQ competitions.

Hared was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason on 15 February 2018 passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft on 08 November 2018 and Raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason 27 March 2019 all at the Blanco Masonic Lodge No. 216 in Blanco, Texas.  He was a third generation Mason in that his father and grandfather were Master Masons.  He joined the Blanco Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star on 19 July 2019.  He often visited other Chapters and neighboring Lodges in which Bennie was a member.  He held offices of Junior and Senior Steward at Blanco which made him the chief cook.

He had recently moved to Portland, OR to be closer to his sister and niece, even though he didn’t like the cold Portland weather.

Hared is survived by his mother, Petra; father, Jesus; sister, Ingrid; favorite niece Evalyn; cat, Jack; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  Also surviving him are his Masonic Brothers from Blanco, Rambo and Johnson City (all Texas) Lodges, and Sisters from the Order of the Eastern Star.  His mentor, Bennie Hudson predeceased him in December 2022.
