Flo, the daughter of A.F. "Bob" and Mary "Gladys" Peterson, was born and raised in North Portland. In 1948, upon graduation from St. Mary's Academy, she entered the Sisters of the Holy Names. She taught school for 25 years in Spokane, Seattle, Portland, Salem, Eugene, Medford and Lake Oswego. She then worked for 14 years in Religious Education and as a Pastoral Associate in Portland, Forest Grove, and Eugene.

In the late 1980s, Flo Left the SNJM community and moved to The Dalles. She obtained licensure in real estate and worked in Hood River. After retiring, she lived in Vancouver and and was active with her swimming and New Heights bible study groups. In 2017, she moved to St. Anthony Village in Portland where she died this year.

Flo was a lively, gifted, faith-filled and compassionate woman who touched the lives of many people.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John Wines.

Survivors include: her sisters Norma Ruzsa and Marian Menstell, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Portland on Thursday, February 10th at 11:00am. Masks are required.
