Darcey Delaney McAllister was born in Denver, CO on November 11, 1965 to Jim and Esther Delaney. She spent her formative years in Arvada, CO, and graduated from Arvada West High School in 1984. She attended the University of Colorado and earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1989 with focuses in international relations and anthropology. During college, she worked at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, where she discovered her love for live theater. In 1994, she moved to Seaside, OR and launched her career in HR at Tongue Point Job Corp Center in Astoria. It was there she met her husband Joel and they were married in Seattle in 2000. In 2014, they bought a hazelnut farm in Newberg, OR and moved there in 2016. Her career in HR expanded across multiple organizations and culminated in the creation of her own HR consulting firm called HRT Northwest in 2017. Yet, her fondest job is the work she did at the Trappist Abbey running their guesthouse and furthering her faith in God. After a 6 year battle with breast cancer, she peacefully passed away at her revered nut farm on May 17, 2025. She is survived by her beloved husband Joel, step-daughter Crystal Murray (Adam) and her grandchildren Clay, Harper, and Lincoln, her step-son Luke (Jayme), brother Michael, brother Dan (J’anne), niece Kelly and family, nephew Chris, and her dog Petrus. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Jean Delaney, and many fur children.
