Bernard Jerome "Jerry" Jacobs

August 17, 1935 — April 6, 2024

Milwuakie

Bernard (Jerry) Jacobs passed away peacefully on April 6th with his wife Joan, by his side. Jerry was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 17, 1935, where he was raised by his grandmother. He attended Chaminade High School and after graduation, he moved to Southern California and joined the Air Force in 1954.

After serving in the military, he began his professional career with APCOA Parking Company in 1960. He began as a parking garage car attendant and retired in 1999 as Vice President of Parking Operations.

Jerry married Joan Estevan in 1962 and quickly started a family. They moved to Milwaukie, OR in the winter of 1968 where they became parishioners at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Jerry enjoyed being an active member of his local community. He enjoyed his time serving St. John the Baptist Parish and School, LaSalle High School, and Portland Rotary Club.  He was known by family and friends as selfless, caring, generous, and talkative man who was always interested in supporting and helping others.

He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and extended family, boating on the Willamette River, traveling on family vacations and supporting his grandchildren at their various sporting events. He also spent many years bowling in his local league and cherished gardening in the summer.

He is survived by his wife Joan of 61 years, brother Bill Jacobs, his children Scott Jacobs (Marti) and Laura Larsen (Barry) as well as his six grandchildren.
